Raw / Living Foods

A raw food diet is one that consists of foods that have not been heated above 92ºF to 118ºF (temperatures vary depending on raw food philosophy). Raw food diets may include raw fruits, raw vegetables, raw nuts, raw seeds, raw, unpasteurized dairy products (e.g. milk, cream, butter), raw meat, raw eggs, and raw honey.

Raw foods such as fruits, salads, meat, and dairy are easy to prepare. However, other foods can require considerable advanced preparation. For example, rice and other grains may require sprouting or overnight soaking. As well, to activate their enzymes, nuts are often soaked before consumption.
